This is a beautiful Hummel figurine entitled "Band
Leader" (mold #129) by Goebel of Germany. It features a young boy conducting
music. It was first modeled by master sculptor Arthur Moeller in 1939.
There are 2 figurines available with different trademarks.
The first figurine is mold #129 and it measures 5 ¼" tall. It has
the fifth trademark (shown above), dating the piece to between 1972-1979. It
is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or restorations.
The second figurine is mold #129 it measures 5 ¼" tall. It has the
second trademark (full bee - shown below), dating the piece to between 1950-1955.
It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restorations. This figurine
may be purchased for USD $500 or CDN $650 inclusive.
