This is a beautiful Hummel figurine entitled "Forest
Shrine" (mold #183) by Goebel of Germany. It measures a large 9" tall
and features two deer admiring an icon of Mary and Jesus in a tree. It was first modeled
by master sculptor Reinhold Unger in 1946.
This figurine has the fifth trademark, dating the piece to between 1972-1979.
The artist's initials and the number "79" are written in script on the bottom.
The number represents the year (1979) when the figurine was created. It is
in mint condition with no chips, cracks, or restorations.
