This is a beautiful Hummel figurine entitled "Gay
Adventure" (mold #356) by Goebel of Germany. This figurine was originally
called "Joyful Adventure" when first released in 1972. It features
a young girl carrying flowers in one hand and a bird on a hobo stick in the other
hand. It was first modeled by master sculptor Gerhard Skrobek in 1972.
There are 2 figurines available with identical trademarks, but created
in different years.
The first figurine is mold #356 and it measures 4 ½" tall. It has
the sixth trademark (shown), dating the piece to between 1979-1991. The artist's
initials "RC" and the number "83"
are written in script on the bottom. The number represents the year (1983)
when the figurine was created. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks,
or restorations.
The second figurine is mold #356 and it measures 4 ½" tall. It has
the sixth trademark (shown), dating the piece to between 1979-1991. The artist's
initials "UF" and the number "80"
are written in script on the bottom. The number represents the year (1980)
when the figurine was created. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks,
or restorations.
